RIP Joey
Such a special ittle cat.

Joey a 1yr old entire DSH male with Light Green eyes
Light Grey with White chin and chest and White feet.
Hi Sue
I noticed that some of your website users have announced the result of their search.  I too got a result on Saturday morning - unfortunately not the one I had been hoping and praying for.  We got a phonecall to say that someone who had seen one of my missing posters had noticed that morning there was a cat lying dead at the side of the road about 1.5 miles from where we live.  I had a bad feeling, and it was sadly him.  Despite having been missing for one day short of a month, he had only obviously been killed that morning.  He looked well fed (so presumably someone must have been feeding him) and he was perfect apart from a little blood in his ears and nose.  We are absolutely devastated!  Our cat Sona had Joey and two girl kittens on the 16th May 2007 and we kept Joey because he was the "runt" of the litter.  He was always a bit slower, smaller than his two sisters but he was so friendly, soft and gentle - he was the most loving cat you could ever want and he was always still a "mummys boy" to Sona who still mothered him a bit even a year on.

We are so upset and I just hope time will heal our pain a bit.  He was more than "just a cat" to us and always will be.  We buried him in his favourite bit in the garden and have planted a yellow miniature rose plant above him.

Thanks for the help provided by your website - we tried everything and more but it sadly wasn't to be for him and us.

Kind regards
Sheena

c2441

Mia a 7yr old spayed Chocolate point Siamese female with Electric Blue eyes. Cream body, Brown ears face tail etc.. Dark 'spay' patch on one side.

Mia's Story

" My name is Mia I am a chocolate point Siamese Pussycat.
My story begins on Sat. 28/6.08 at approx. 10.30pm. I took it into my head to go on an adventure out through the side gate, I was up the street (totally alien to me as I only ever stayed in my back garden ) So I had a wander but I wandered too far and ended up in a street I did not recognise even though it was only 1 street away, it could have been a thousand miles away.. I was lost !
I was spotted on a few occasions but when my humans came, I'd disappeared..
On the Thursday night the 3rd Jul. my human had a phone call saying I'd been seen sitting on a garden wall. They saw me but because I was not in familiar surroundings I did not recognise them and I ran off.
Sunday 6th Jul. I had made it back to my street again, completely disorientated, just could not find my way home, tried again Monday night with no luck ! But, then I found myself in the back gardens of which I had some idea.
Tuesday the 8th at approx 10.30pm I heard my human calling my name and rattling my box of biscuits . That was it, I knew I was home. It took 9 nights and 8 days but I made it.."

Mia has been back & forth to the vet (she has a really bad cold) but with plenty of tlc she is slowly improving day by day.
We wish all your stories could have a happy ending.
Our love and prayers go out to all owners who have lost their beloved pet just like us.

With love and gratitude
Wendy, Dave, Mia & Kiki xx
Thankyou for being there when I was despairing - which was most of the time.

Hi Sue,
Sorry haven't responded sooner but fortunately I found Bradley on Saturday evening, 10 days after missing. He's a little thinner & under the weather but other than that safe & well. He was found between my village & the next in an apple orchard, under a hedge. I'm totally relieved & thankful for your help. I found it very reassuring to read some of the stories by your other cat owners & it certainly gave me hope. I wish everyone else a safe & happy ending to their situation & that they never give up hope. I'm a lucky lass!

Hi
I am writing to advise you that I have now found c'fer although he is in a bad way.  He is currently with the vet as he is dehydrated and has an injury from what appears to be his collar which trapped his leg.  Poor little thing right now - hoping he pulls through.  He's really dirty from living rough and it appears his collar may have been wrapped around his head and leg for the whole of the time.  he was found in the garden of a family just down the road from where he went missing at Meadowbank.  Many thanks for your help.

Hi Sue
I'm sorry I haven't been in touch to update you sooner.
Good news, Purdey came home at 2.30 am on Monday morning after driving us frantic for the weekend.
He was hungry but unharmed, thank God. His is now reunited with a very happy brother.
We have taken all the posters down and removed him from all the missing pet websites.
I have sent you a cheque, please cash it and put it towards your scanner appeal as I think the work and service you and your website provide is invaluble. It was a great comfort to me just reading about all the cats that returned home on your site, it gave me great hope in our 'darkest hours'.
We were very lucky as Purdey found his own way home, but while he was off having his big adventure we were out of our minds with worry, just knowing that there were people like yourselves who would help us find him was a great support.
Keep up the good work - and thank you and all the other cat lovers for all your kind words and advice.

"hi sue, there's no point in continuing the search. my cat was found and handed in to a local Vetenery centre in cheshire and was re-homed 10 days later.

"i would hate this to happen to somebody else, and if it helps to prevent it then thats great. and yes it is some consolation that pat has a good home with a family. i did try and try to get in touch with the new owners (especially as they had only had him for a weekend before i was able to get the vet to call them and say that he has an owner), but as they have kids they weren't prepared to give him back to us. but i have no legal rights at all, as he wasn't micro chipped, and they waited 7 days before re-homing him"

Pat's human gave me permission to put this message online - in order to get across the importance of registering a lost or found cat with 'All' local vets and rescues straight away - also the fact that one should follow up with phone calls regularly until their cat is found.
Please act now before you lose a cat - collar , microchip (updated) and photos - are all so important in ensuring that your cat is found quickly.

This cat has been hanging around since the beginning of May at least. Shy at first but getting friendly. Its been sleeping in our front porch. Was looking a bit scruffy and had a dull coat but looking healthier since we've been feeding it.

Hello Sue,
Just to update you .  Looks like the cheeky monster has moved in with us!  She has now been renamed Harley.  For some reason she took a fancy to our home even though we have 2 Westies who like to chase cats.  Slowly but surely she started coming in, using the cat flap, bold as brass started coming in the living rooms and even the dogs don’t bother her now!  Still no idea where she came from but I think she is more than happy with her new home!

We lost our old cat (who was 18 ½) just before last Christmas.  I said to my husband we weren’t having another cat unless one turns up on the doorstep.  Many a true word said in jest – Harley must have heard on the grapevine about a vacancy here!

Thanks

Ellie an 11yr old spayed Siamese female with Green eyes
Lilac (medium grey) Lilac all over with some darker bands on tail which show in good light.
Hi Sue,

Great news!!! After several weeks we have Ellie back safe and well.
We had a phone call in response to our posters and flyers from a gentleman whose daughter said she had seen a cat that looked like Ellie in the garden across the road from their house. She had called to the cat who had stopped and looked before running and hiding. This was about 500 yards down the road from us at a house we had passed many times in our daily searches but we rushed down there straight away.
The owner of the house was out but the man who'd called us and his daughter came to show us whereabouts they had seen the cat. The cat heard us and shot for cover but I caught a glimpse of her and recognised her instantly. She hid in amongst some trees and rocks but I managed to grab hold of her and pull her out. After a quick cuddle and check over we put her in a pillowcase to take her home after profusely thanking the people who had phoned us.
She has been checked over by a vet and apart from having lost some weight and being very tired and a bit clingy is fine.
Thank you for your site and I hope our story will help others through the terrible time whilst their cats are missing.

Re,found cat `sven` Bispham, Blackpool
I am delighted that after spotting this little cat and feeding him (actually a her!) that after Sue picked her up as what we thought was a stray cat,the owner (who was looking for her) has come forward and she is now happily restored a few doors down.Funnily enough my own cat , Loki, is jet black and I am told that kit kat (real name)lost her black cat brother a while ago, maybe her closeness to my cat and the reason she was drawn to our house was him.

The cat is Kit Kat and it seems the reason she appeared underweight and rather poorly is that she is 14 years old and has a health condition with her thyroid gland. She is also profoundly deaf
So, many thanks to sue in helping restore the cat to her home.
I met her lovely owner today and was very happy to see the cat in her home, purring away. She did recognise myself and 2 children though and accepted a friendly pat and stroke! We shall be keeping in contact now
What a wonderful , happy ending

Missing from the area of the Oakfield Vetinary Practice, Margaret Road.
Hi there, just to let you know that we have now found scampi. It was really lucky but we kept going back to the place he was last seen and eventually he turned up and we managed to catch him so he is back home safe and well.

It was a really terrible time when we lost him as he was so far from home at the vets about 10 miles away. We just kept going out every day, put up posters everywhere, went out every night calling him. It was a desperate time because he could have been just about anywhere, he ran out of his cat carrier at such speed we thought we would have no chance of finding him. No one saw him for three days then on the third night we went back after dark calling all around the area nearest to the vets-it was a long shot at this point but then we spotted him on a playing field and after an hour of patience, sitting around waiting for him to come to us, he eventually came close enough for me to grab. Now he his home safe and well like nothing happened! He was very thin and weak when we found him but is completely back to normal again now. I just hope this story helps people not to give up hope for their cats safe return as it is such a horrible thing to happen.

Thanks again, you really have a fab website and it was some comfort reading the home safe stories whilst Scampi was missing. Will certainly be telling my friends about the site.
Many thanks, Louise x

I have found Bobby!  This afternoon I decided whilst it was daylight to pop back round to my old house as a good neighbour had seen a black & white cat but wasn't sure if it was Bobby or not.  I had a gut feeling to go and look even though I kept telling myself all the way there in the car it wasn't possible he could get back, what with all the main roads and cars etc.  I parked the car and walked down my old back alley.  I'd literally only been there a few minutes calling his and my other cats names when all of a sudden I heard a meow! of excitment.  I looked up and there he was, jumping over a wall and running toward me.  I've never felt so relieved.  I scooped him up and gave him a cuddle all the time, tears streaming down my face.  I'd heard stories of cats being clever and making their own way to places but I still struggle to believe my Bobby has done it.  It's roughly 2 miles from Chislehurst Avenue and Ivy Avenue.  He's a little thin but well.  Currently snoozing after a full belly of food.  He'll not be going out again for some time!

Thanks for all your help and I hope other cat owners have happy endings too.

Yours sincerely
Miss Joy Adamson

We at Moggy do our best to be here for all those 'Moggy' People who need support - we take no credit for finding the cats on our homesafe pages - that is due to the humans who go through untold traumas, and heartache to get their loved ones back and we salute you.
Also to our Moggy helpers who lend a hand with all sorts of tasks including acting as lookout and helping with the internet or actively joining in with the distribution of posters and fliers - thankyou all.
Thanks also to the Rescuers who work tirelessly to find owners or provide forever homes for their charges - Well done.
