Wearing a collar when she went missing from the area of Park Crescent...
Hello Sue!
Its a miracle but we have found our cat after the longest month of our life, she was found nearly half a mile a way completly lost and begginig for food from a kind lady who saw her on a local missing cats website and then called us. I'm so happy and relieved she is safe and home. She is very very hungry and very thin, she seems to be doing ok and is going for a vet check up on monday. she went nuts when she saw me and wanted a giant cuddle, Seems like she got completly lost but is very happy to be home now.
Thank you so much for all your advice and help, the work you do is incredible, thanks again,

Luisa Paolucci and last but not least, Rizzo!

Pluto a 15mth old neutered and chipped Burmese Blue X male
with Gold eyes
Gunmetal grey: Gunmetal/silver grey velvety close short fur with white bots, a tiny one sided white moustache, white vest and tummy. When walking his white front areas don't show and he looks all grey.
Dear Sue
I had emptied the contents of the vacuum cleaner bag into his favourite corner that same morning and also hung out a cardigan he loves to sleep on from a tree in the other corner of the garden.

I do not know (and he hasn't told me yet) whether the scents guided him home or whether he was shut away in one of the numerous weekend homes here. They all came alive on Saturday night when he reappeared. My fly posters were everywhere and although no one called to confess to setting him free or feeding him, such might well have been the case.

In the mysterious saga of disappearances of cats, it is totally out of character for Pluto to be gone for more than a few hours and he was very very affectionate when he got in. He slept for a flat stretch of 16 hours and I kept him in last night despite a few yowls in protest least the holiday homers repeated any such errors before going away again on Sunday evening (the time he disappeared a week before).

Pluto, strangely, didn't look thinner at all but he smelled dusty as if he may have been kept in. He is a very handsome personality plus cat and someone might have lured him in and tried to keep him with them indoors until they saw from my posters with the detail prominently worded that he is microchipped.

No door to door enquiries produced a thing! Many neighbours recognised having seen his friendly mother come through their gardens or stop to chat with them but none have ever seen Pluto in the two to three blocks I covered in depth in every direction....

This info might be worth putting on your site? I had virtually lost hope and was distraught but carried on calling him at regular intervals, walking and calling and putting out food as well as the dust hoover bag contents:) Something worked and I am so lucky.

Good luck to everyone else out there whose little furry friend has gone missing.   Jubilantly reunited with my Pluto at PE36 after almost a week missing.
Thanks Sheri Hoste

Happy Homecoming

Sue,
Mog's home!!!!!!  After 9 days of absence he decided to come home, I could not believe my eyes! I have no idea where he has been, he was'nt dirty or had any twigs/debris stuck to him but he was very hungry, possibly shut in somewhere? His collar and tags were still on him.  Anyway he was just as pleased to see me! He kept pushing his nose against mine and was going mad! He had 2 tins of his favourite food "Sheba" and then he slept on my bed with his cushion that he likes to suck and stayed there!  I got him chipped on Tuesday and was worried about him going out again, but he has been sticking around the garden and on the green outside the front of my house. If only they could talk!  Thank you so much for responding to me, I kept reading the stories on the website, the found ones and it made me really hopeful.  Once again thanks.  Kindest Regards

Sophie an 8yr old entire but chipped DHS female with Green eyes
Black all over. No other colouring whatsoever
Hi Sue
Thanks for your e-mail. The RSPCA phoned yesterday to say they had found Sophie about a mile from our house. She had been in a traffic accident and has sustained an injury to her brain. The vet asked us to make a decision about whether she should be pts or whether to wait and see if she improves. We opted for the latter as she isn’t in any pain or distress.
We are waiting to hear how she has done overnight but the prognosis doesn’t look good. I will let you know what happens.
It appears she had wondered across the fields behind our estate. The vet said she wasn’t malnourished or dehydrated so it looks like someone may have been feeding her.
Thanks for all your help.
Laura

Hi Sue
Good news. Sophie improved so it looks like she had only just had the accident when the RSPCA found her. She is now purring and eating etc.
She is still a bit wobbly on her back legs and has lost an awful lot of weight. But we have been given the ok from the vet to bring her home tonight.
I really can't believe this story has a happy ending as we thought she would have to be put to sleep on Sunday night.
I am glad we did not opt for this too soon & asked for her to be observed.
It appears she had got lost in the fields behind our house & somehow managed to wander some distance (including crossing a motorway somehow).
After 7 weeks, we had really given up hope so it just goes to show you should never give up.
Thank you for all your help and advice. The homesafe stories have kept me going & I'm glad we can now be one of them.

Just to let you know Domino is safely back home . A lady called on Sun to say she thought he was in her back garden, once we’d gone through a def match, she kept feeding him and I went to pick him up. He’d def been locked in by the look of him, his nose was a little raw and he was very thin.  He had shredded a packet of Iams that were in her garden when she first spotted him. He hasn’t stopped eating since he got back, trip to the vets and alls fine, he's a little traumatized and totally exhausted but on the mend.
Glad to have him back!

Dear Sue ,
Thankyou so much for putting Rommy's details online , I can understand how busy you must be .
Good news !!!! Rommy was found today in a house only a few doors away . The owners had searched it thoroughly all last week .
However this afternoon they thought they heard a wimper & called me to come round . After a while calling & listening he emerged from under a bed in their junk room . They just can't get over the fact he'd been there for so long without them seeing or hearing him .
You can imagine the relief we all feel.
Apart from having lost quite a bit of weight in a week & being ravenous, he is otherwise OK .
I would like to thankyou your help & the help your site does in helping reunite cats with their owners .
Yours sincerely

See message below from Sue at the University.

" He was taken at 6am this morning to a nice home by one of our cleaners friends.  She loves cats and decided to give Unicat a home.  From the feed back I have had this afternoon he has settled in and it's as if he has always lived there.  He's made friends with her other cats and is quite at home sleeping on the sofa and eating his food.  At last he has a nice loving home with humans who will look after him really well.  Regards.  Sue Cheshire"

Hi Sue,
Just a quick email to say we have found Coco after 2 months!!!
I had a call from the Humane Education Society in Wilmslow to say a family had reported a tortoisheshell cat hanging around their house for 1 1/2 days.  They had taken her to the vets, but her chip had not shown up.  The family contacted the Humane Education Society who had then contacted me.  I can't believe it.  She is about 1/4 of the size she was.  The family thought she was only 1 year old!
Just wanted to let you know.
Thank you for all your help.

Custard a 5yr old neutered and chipped DSH male with Yellow eyes
Custard is black all over with no other colours. He is quite a big cat, tall and leggy.
Hi Sue
Good News! Custard came home this evening after being missing for nearly three months. My brother thought he saw him at about 5pm on our road but when we looked we couldn't see him. Later my mum thought she heard him meowing but when we looked we only found his sister.

Then later on my brother heard the meowing again and opened the door thinking it was Custard's sister but it was Custard!
We've no idea where he has been but he's not lost any weight. Perhaps all this time he really has been living in the nearby fields catching mice. He's had a cuddle with my dad and purred, which is very rare. And he's settled himself into the dog's new bed, which only arrived in the post today. He must have known that the new bed had arrived.

Needless to say we are so relieved he is home and he seems pretty happy too. To others looking for your cats, don't give up and I hope your cat comes home soon

Sue
Almost 6 weeks after he went missing, we got Alan home last night. He has turned into a bit of a local celebrity, with an article in the paper, and a piece on the BBC Radio London breakfast show on Friday 19th Oct, when Helen was interviewed live with some of the school pupils that have been helping to find him.

We received a phone call yesterday from someone about half a mile away who had found a strange cat in their Kitchen/Utility room that morning. Whilst the cat ran off before they got a good look he seemed to match the description they had seen on our local posters. The also found evidence that he may have been sleeping more regularly in the linen basket! As recent evenings have been markedly colder it seemed to make sense that he would try and find shelter in this way, whereas we have not really had any positive confirmed sightings in any of the previous 6 weeks and had rather given up hope.

We agreed that they would put the cat flap on one way entry only so if he came in again he would be trapped in and we could come and identify him. As it happened, he was very soon afterwards spotted outside and they coaxed him into the house with food.  Yes, it was Alan, very much thinner than when we last saw him but seemingly clean and healthy and very pleased to see us.

He is now at home eating lots of food and getting used to his surroundings again. Thank you very much for your support and advice.

She is being well cared for with lots of TLC.  Does have some mild mouth problems that will be seen to this week hopefully depending on how she is coping as she is very scared of everything!

'Cirrus' missing since 23rd Oct.2007
c2086

Cirrus a 4yr old neutered and chipped male Flamepoint Ragdoll with Blue eyes
Fluffy - 99% White with an Orange tint to his ears and tail

Dear Sue,
Thank you very much for putting Cirrus onto your site. We are delighted to say that we now have him back again. We searched everywhere for him and put up posters and distributed leaflets to houses. After two weeks, we concluded that he couldn't possibly be wandering around the village as so many people were looking for him. We were starting to fear the worst. Then one evening, I received a telephone call from a villager who said that two weeks previously she had been walking in a field with her dogs and saw a white cat run up a tree. Every 3 days when she went back with her dogs, the cat was hidden in a hollow up in the tree and eventually she thought of our leaflet that she received through her door and gave us a ring in case it was Cirrus. My daughter and I rushed straight round and found Cirrus completely stuck up the tree, frantic to see us and unable to get down. The RSPCA refused to believe that a cat could survive in a tree for 2 weeks and said that for health and safety reasons they would not attempt to rescue him in the dark and he would have to wait till the morning. I therefore had to get a ladder and with the help of my two children got him down. As our ladder wouldn't reach far enough, I had to hold his cat box above my head and hope he would jump into it which fortunately he did. He was just fluff and bones when we got him back and was very wobbly. The vet said he'd lost 1.5kg. He's doing fine now and is starting to put on weight again. We've bought him a tracking device to go on his collar so if he goes missing again, we can find him within minutes instead of weeks!
We can't believe how lucky we are to have him back. He must have got just enough water to drink on the few occasions that it rained and luckily it was really mild weather.
Thank you very much for your help and we think your site is brilliant.

Best wishes,
Hazel and Stuart.

'Kitty' a 7- 8wk old DSH female with Yellow / Green eyes
All Black with White armpits

Hi Sue
Little Kitty c1904 –found in Randlay, Telford 28th July 2007
Brownie Guides on way to summer camp found her crying  a couple of streets away, and we happened to have a poster nearby on a lamppost so they rang me thinking it may be Ollie who has gone missing the previous week.

She was only a few weeks old so we took her home as she was dirty and starving.  She jumped in the food bowls and ate loads then went to sleep! Despite several ads in the local paper, rescue centres and all the local vets, not one single enquiry – and she is so cute! We took her to the vets to get her checked over.

She has settled in here with Izzy Jewels and Paulo.
Izzy ‘mothers’ her and is constantly cleaning her, usually getting her in a stranglehold on top of the TV!

We couldn’t stop calling her Little Kitty so now she is ‘LK’ for short!
(When she’s older I expect she will be Elle or Ellie!) Still looking for Ollie and trying to stay hopeful.

Thanks so much for your support Sue

'Jasper' missing since 25th Sept.2007
c2007

Jasper an 8yr old entire but chipped DLH male with Golden eyes
Ginger tabby
Escaped from carrier in the area of Hill's Veterinary Surgery, Carisfort Road...
Hi Sue

He’s home !!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a call this morning from a woman at the other end of the street that Jasper went missing in.  She said that she had a fluffy ginger tom behind her sofa and didn’t know what to do.  She said he looked just like the cat in the posters.  I asked if she could hang on until I got there as I was 45 minutes away at work.  She said that she could only wait a while as she had to go to a conference.  I called the vet and asked if they could help by catching him and I would then pick him up from the vet.  A nurse from the surgery went to the house but the cat had disappeared and it was thought he could have escaped via the front door when the woman in the house had gone to write down the phone number from the notice.  She promised to continue looking for him and let me know if he turned up again.  She said that she had seen him about quite often.

On the way home from work I stopped the car near her house and walked around the block calling him and talking to him.  When I got back to her house I went to knock on the door to introduce myself and establish a relationship and get her on my side.  I got no answer and called Jasper’s name and he answered – he was stuck in the house and was the other side of the front door.  I talked to him and he responded with meows and I could hear him picking at the door mat in excitement.  I decided to wait until the house owners came home from work.

After a while nature called but I was reluctant to go home and come back in case I missed them and Jasper rushing out the front door as soon as they got home.  I knocked next door and met a very kind and sympathetic family who had the mobile numbers of the house where Jasper was.  I spoke to the husband and he said that he would be home at 9.00.  I arranged to meet him outside and asked him not to open his door until I got there.  I took my husband and a couple of friends as backup with blankets etc.  When he opened the door there was no sign of the cat.  In their living room there was a clump of ginger fur on an arm of a sofa (Jasper’s calling card).  We could hear him meowing but there was no sign of him.  We even looked up the chimney.  The meowing seemed to be coming from the other sofa.  He wasn’t on it, behind it or under it. Somehow he had got inside it – the lining under the sofa had split away from the base and he was lying in there!

I knew it was him straight away because when I put my hand in to touch him there was no scratch or bite and I had to literally drag him out by the scruff of his neck and he was completely relaxed.  He is very skinny and his fur a little dirty and matted.  He is very hungry and weak but very happy to be home.  I will take him to the vet tomorrow to be checked out.  Willem his brother seems most put out and hissed at him several times.  I’ll keep them apart for a while.  Thanks for all your advice and support.  I will enjoy taking down all the posters tomorrow.

Kind regards
Helena

Thanks for your e-mail, Sue.  We had no success in tracing Tinkerbell's owner despite scouring local roads for "Kitten lost" notices and displaying "Kitten found" posters in the area.  We also checked with the local vet to see if she had been microchipped.  She is now with the Cats Protection League and we have been able to find a new home for her in Bexley.  In a few days' time she will be vaccinated and spayed and will go to her new owner who has a very similar 2½ year-old cat.  My wife and I have met the new owner and seen her home and are very happy for Tinkerbell to go there.

We would have loved to keep her ourselves but we already have two cats. Thanks for your interest.

Great news - Chico came home this morning - 5½ months after I last saw him. I went out this morning to feed the horses and pheasants and I could see two eyes under my car. I knew straight away it was Chico. I sat down next to the car and called him. He came up to me straight away and I picked him up and brought him indoors. He looks absolutely fine - fit and well. The only problem I have now is the other cats were not happy as he has been gone so long that they did not recognise him. He is just the same - very friendly and purring. I have him shut in at the moment and left him asleep in his favourite place on the bed. I cannot express how I feel - just very shaky

We have to remember there is always hope - especially thinking of Cuba and Groucho

Thank you so much Sue I hope I will not have to contact you again!!

Tom a 10yr old neutered DSH male with Greenish eyes
A Ginger Marbled Tabby, a large cat with Pale and Dark Ginger markings. White paws, belly and tip of tail.
Hi Sue,
Good news !  After a two hour walk of the local neighbourhood in the pouring rain late last night – we got back to our garden to find Tom sat on the path looking at us, as if to say ‘hurry up, I’m hungry, where’ve you been!!!’  The little scamp!!  We were obviously delighted and proceeded in feeding him and giving him lots of cuddles all night.  He was in only an hour and wanted back out again – we couldn’t believe it!  We’re keeping him in now, much to his annoyance, until we get him chipped tomorrow….really don’t want to go through that again.
Thank you for your help anyway.

Dear Sue
You sent us an email requesting more info on Puss Puss on 8th October . I replied to it to let you know that we got Puss Puss back on 10th October. A local lady called to say that she had seen a black cat hanging around in her garden .We spent the day searching the area for him but to no avail. Just after we got home the lady rang to say he had returned. We hardly dared to think it would be Puss Puss but there he was large as life, a little lighter and ears covered in rabbit flea bites.

I'm mailing you now because I check to see if Puss Puss is on the 'home safe' list and he isn't. So it occurs to me that you didn't receive the email. I think - as Andrew forwarded your email to me- when I replied I may have just sent it back to him by mistake !!. Many apologies if this is the case. Sadly just before Puss Puss returned our 19 year old cat Pushkin- who had been ill for some time- suddenly deteriorated and we had to say goodbye to her - so my brain was all over the place.
Apologies again and thank you so much for all your help and for starting such a great site.

Sassy a 2yr old chipped - entire Blue Point Ragdoll with Blue eyes
Her fluffy coat is White with Grey Feet, tail and Grey markings on her face
I have fabulous news.  Last night I received a telephone call from a lady in Gillingham, who had found Sassy in her garden.  She is very matted and very skinny.  She was checked over by the vet this morning and apart from a very upset tummy she is in pretty good shape for a little pussy cat who has been gone so long.

Sorry it has taken so long to  let you know but at least I come with happy news.

Re Mitzy
We registered him with you as missing yesterday, having disappeared on 12th Nov.
I got up this morning to find him walking across the lawn.
Very thin, very weak but seems otherwise OK. Looks like he’s been locked in somewhere.
Glad to have him back and keep up the good work.

Marvin

Marvin a Blue Point Siamese is missing from the Helens Close area of Blackpool where he was staying while his humans were on holiday.
Hi,
I think we may have Marvin living with us.He turned up in our garden in July 2005 looking very dirty and thin.He wasn't wearing a collar though but he looked like he had worn one previously. He is very vocal and does tend to overgroom if he is stressed.

When he first "adopted us" we did advertise him as" found" in the local paper, but on the advice of our vet,we described him as "light brown" instead of Siamese,to try and avoid unscrupulous people claiming him because of his breed. The vet also scanned him to see if he was chipped.
He is a very loving puss and loves cuddling upto us all,but especially our 7 yr old daughter.
He is neutered and has blue eyes.He has a slight turn in his left eye which is sometimes apparent and sometimes not.
He prefers dry food to meat but loves tuna.He doesn't like milk of any kind and we wake up every morning to find he has squeezed in between us during the night!!
We call him Nermal, after the siamese cat in the Garfield movie.

Obviously we would be very upset to see him go,but we know how we would feel if one of our cats went missing.
Lyn

Hi,
We spoke last night to Marvin's family and established that our Siamese is their Marvin but they are happy for us to keep him.

They are going to call and see him this evening,

Sue
We are so glad to inform you we have found dave.

We believe now that he got into a delivery van a week ago last monday and that the delivery driver kicked him out some distance away about a mile.  We had put A4 posters up on lamposts, newsagents, morrisions.  We distributed 250 A5 leaflets offered a reward of £300 thanks to M&S Insurance.  But still nothing, we then got three phone calls yesterday one from someone saying they had found his collar on their gate, an hour later one from someone saying they had found him frightened in their garden on friday and kept him since.  Although they didnt think about micro chip checking him they noticed our posters, and, called me last night.  There he was looking out the window at their house this morning and the first thing he did was roll over to be tickled (his favourite thing).  The dog is over come with herself now they are back together.  the couple that found him now have £300 to look forward too for their christmas.  I cannot believe he is back home. Thanks

Thomas a 4yr old neutered and chipped DSH male with Green eyes
Black and White : Black face, White whiskers, White chest One front leg more White than the other. 4 White paws. Very short Black tail.
Thomas is Home! or rather feeding in the garden.
When he went missing, I left a bowl of food where I last saw him, Knowing how nervous he is, I moved the food slowly nearer to my garden then eventually after around 10 days into the garden.  The food was disappearing all the time but as I was unsure whether any of my 3 cats or other neighbourhood cats were eating it. I borrowed a camcorder from a friend and whilst checking it was in place, there was Thomas eating on patio about 3 feet from the door. He has been coming back for 6 days, and he is now eating on my step. Just need to slowly entice him back into the house, but have provided shelter (a cat kennel) in the garden if he prefers to live outside for longer.

all White, right leg White with Black patch.

HI Sue, Eric's Home!!!!! Joy of joys, what a reiief!!He was locked in a house at the corner of Dinmore and Bathusrt Ave, apparently the owners had a burgalary on Friday and they have not been home properly since. The next door neighbour to them saw Eric in the bedroom window and compared him to the flier, she was convinced he was Eric but had to wait half an hour before he'd turn around so she could get a better look at him, when she did she phoned us, we went around and bless his heart it was him.Only thing is he doesn't seem too keen to be home, is this normal? he seems to want to go back out again now that he's had a good feed. Thanks again Sue for everything.

'BG' 17th Sept.2006 - 7th Dec.2007

BG fondly known as Boy, a 2yr old neutered & chipped DSH male.
A Russian Blue cross, Grey/Blue coat with Silver-tipping on extremities, Rusty and therefore Brown on back and sides due to living rough.

15 months - just under - and HE'S HOME!!!

First, 'cos most important, thank you so much for your support in those early few weeks and months.

With no sightings I had almost given up hope - until, by chance, I caught a grey cat in my headlights on Tuesday a couple of miles away - actually in the next town. Couldn't stop - too much traffic, narrow road where people drive far too fast. But I went back after work. No sign.

Nonetheless, convinced it was BG, I leafleted the big posh houses along the road and had a call from an old lady who he had adopted a few months ago. Before then (when all the publicity was up in that area, although I didn't do house-to-house that far away) he must have been living along the railway line. No access at all, it's all fields, trees, fenced off - no wonder no-one saw him. She was feeding him, but he was living outdoors - she didn't want to adopt him and get too fond of him as she'd lost a cat to the main road a few years previously. She trapped him in her greenhouse this afternoon and called me. I called the vet - picked him up - straight to the vet and chip confirmed :D - but I knew on Tuesday morning. He's very well - in fact, he's FAT! I'm sat in the spare room with him settling him in again, he's sat by my on the bed (hooray for wireless internet!) purring like a little train.

So happy that he's home - best Christmas present EVER!

Final message to anyone whose furbabe is still missing: you just never know. All you do can never be enough until they are home - and you can't "do nothing" (if I hadn't leafleted those houses,
