Acorn an 11yr old DSH male with Green eyes
A Ginger Tabby with White patch of fur under his chin.
Hi Sue,
I just wanted to let you know that Acorn has now been found. He had been missing for just over 5 weeks and we were starting to give up hope of ever finding him alive.
Acorn had never been away overnight, let alone for that long. We received a phone call this morning from a lady who had Acorn in her garden, and she had taken our phone number from his collar. Which surprisingly was still on him.
He wasn't far away at all, but he is extremely thin and one of his paws and another of his legs are very badly damaged. It looks like he had been attacked and ran in a different direction, and couldn't find his way home.
I would like to thank you for your website, as it gave me hope, with all the happy endings that you have listed. It just goes to show, that until you know for sure, you should never give up hope.
Acorn was just lucky that he was a fat cat, and had enough to survive. Also he managed to find someone, who had the sense to detect something was not right.
Thank you    Jade Barron

Charlie a 1 yr 10 mths DSH entire male with Amber eyes
White with Ginger patches & stripey tail.
Dear Sue   Thanks to you and your website I now have my cat back after 5 months!!! I am absolutely ecstatic! I had all but given up hope of ever seeing him again.
I received a phone call on Tuesday after somebody had checked out the lost cats on your website, she had only just heard about you and had been trying to find a home for Charlie for months. She rang me and I went straight round and picked him up - I knew it was him as soon as I saw him and when we got home he seemed to remember everything and was very pleased to see our dog Max again - they were rubbing noses and sniffing each other and Max was wagging his tail excitedly.
I have taken Charlie to the Vet today and had him checked over, neutered and micro chipped so he is not very pleased with me at the moment! But at least if he goes off again I have a better chance of finding him - I feel quite nervous about letting him out again but I suppose I will have to soon.
Anyway - thank you so much for helping us to be reunited with Charlie - we are very grateful
Regards    Chris Hodgson

NUMBER 1359 Found!!!
Thank you so much for your wonderful web site.
Charlie or “Triller” as I had called him had been missing since beginning of Nov 06.
I had moved into this area beginning of February, and had been trying to establish where he had come from.
Cat protection couldn’t take him and I was desperate to try and re home him due to the state he was fast becoming in.
I found by chance the My Moggy web site and could not believe my luck when I saw what I thought was his picture, and he had travelled only 2-3 miles along the canal.
Then the mobile number was no longer in existence so contacted Sue who kindly gave me land line-then 5 minutes later I had called them and they turned up.
Lots of tears from all sides and I
am feeling fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!
Lovely ending and the best web site ever-needs everyone’s support……..

Lots of love J

Sascha a Blue / Grey cat missing from the area of Foxknowe Place...
Dear Sue
The good news is that we've found him.  He was about a mile away, lurking near the sorting office near a burger van.  Someone had seen one of the posters we'd put up and lured him with a packet of ham then rang us.  We got him back on Wednesday after being missing for four weeks.  He was rather thin and very hungry, but otherwise fine - just needing a large amount of cuddles.
Thanks for all your help.

Hi Sue    Sad news.  Myrtle passed away on Good Friday.  She had six very happy months with us,  a lot longer than we all expected.  She had deteriorated very rapidly over three days and went to sleep very peacefully just after Alan had returned from work.  It seemed that she waited for him to come home before passing to Rainbow Bridge, bless her.

Those who found her reported her as missing, she was picked up and taken to a local vet accompanied with the recommendation of being pts because of her condition.
Thanks to the vet & staff, an appeal went out to find her owner, with the happy result that Kitty was able to spend her last days with those she loved best.

Hi Sue, We’ve found Tom, four weeks to the day after he went missing. We drove past a pub about half a mile away from our home this evening, and my husband spotted him in a lane next to the car park. He seems ok although he’s very thin and appears to have singed the end of his whiskers. He’s VERY vocal the moment (although somewhat hoarse), and obviously telling us all about his adventure! He seems every bit as pleased to see us as we are him and won’t let me out of his sight.
Kind regards Rachel

Fantastic news - Chico came home last night after being missing for 3 whole horrible weeks. He kept me awake all night as he needed masses of cuddles - I am shattered but it is fantastic.
He was not thin but very very hungry when he came home. He has a V shaped area on his shoulder blades where the fur is missing and two scratches one on each shoulder blades exactly the same length and place - not deep and does not worry him - any suggestions. There is no sign on his paws that he had been scratching to get out of anywhere.
It is great to have him home
best wishes

Oscar was found by some local kids on monday evening. it was on the edge of woods less than 100yds from the house and he had been dead some time. he had been dumped there as i already searched that area and the kids confirmed they play fox and hounds in the woods and he wasn't there the day before. it wasn't clear what had happened to him but i did see a van parked just near the spot on my way home from work and i thought this strange at the time. i buried him at the bottom or the garden. it was possibly the most painful thing i have ever had to do

Denzil, a 3yr old Classic Tabby male
Hi Sue,
We have some sad news about Denzil.
Someone rang on the back of one of our posters and said that they'd found the body of a 'beautifully-marked' tabby.  We knew it could only be Denzil.
We are broken-hearted to have lost such a wonderful, loving and giving cat, but at least we know where he is.  We buried him in the back garden, wrapped in his favourite blanket, with a toy, a photo and a can of tuna fish.
One piece of advice I would give to anyone else who has lost their cat is to concentrate posters in places where there is footfall, rather than necessarily local to them.  Denzil's body was found much further away than we would have ever put posters / leafleted.  However, we'd put one poster on the main road into town, near a supermarket - and it was that poster that people who had found Denzil responded to.
Thanks
Deborah
Further to Deborah's comment re posters.
It is vitally important to make sure that a cat isn't trapped in the immediate area and this should be carried out with some urgency.
However, Debbie is right in commenting on the fact that you should also work on the lines that people travel too, and therefore any busy / public areas should be covered as a matter of course

Felix a 13yr old neutered DSH male with Green eyes
Black and White a large cat with White chin and paws
Hi Sue,   Good news and bad news is the best way to put I suppose......Felix made it home this evening, God knows how. He's in a very bad way, can't stand, appears to have very little sight and is now at the vets. We're trying a massive dose of steroids, antibiotics and a drip overnight to see if there is any hope of it being an infection..... normally in these circumstances I'd say let him go peacefully but he's still purring so with a promise that he's not suffering.....we'll just have to see in the morning.....not hopeful though.
Once again, thank you for all your help.
Best Wishes
Orla

Sue - Just to let you know that Felix was pts earlier today,he hadn't improved overnight and the vet reckoned he had such severe brain damage  that he was never going to be able to stand or see again......so the fairest option was to let him go in peace...I knew the chances of him surviving were very slim but still, it was tough. At least he went with a cuddle and comfort rather then under a bush alone and scared.
I will keep an eye out for Cringer.....I've also asked my vets to contact mymoggy.com with details of any cats that come into/ reported to them.
Thanks again for your help.

Hi again Sue
thanks for your advice, it was gratefully taken on board. Batman was seen by the vet and given a clean bill of health, just a little dehydrated as you suggested. we do not have any photos to send but wanted to say how reading your 'homesafe' stories gave us hope to keep up the intensive search!. might you include our homesafe story so that others can be similarly inspired?...lots of people said that Batman had probably gone off to die as very old cats do. he had not been away from home for even one night for years. so...the six nights he was missing seemed an eternity. he's such a sweet old boy and much loved. we found him about a mile away checking out doorsteps for size, he was very thin and nervy though seemed to be looking as hard for us as we were for him!! we had received some phonecalls reporting sightings from people who had seen our posters, so we were driving around looking for him. it was very lucky to spot him as we did. so...heres hoping others have the same luck, please don't give up hope and keep trying.

thanks again Sue for your website, the hope it gave us played a big part in renewing our efforts to find Batman

Hi Sue,
I kept this little cat - now called Emily - for 5 months before rehoming her.  Despite putting her on websites such as yours, local advertising, contacting vets in the area and reporting her found to all the animal shelters in Sussex, sadly, no one ever claimed her.   I am pleased to report that she is very happy in her new home and is now microchipped.  Because she has shown herself to be a very placid, home-loving cat with no inclination to wander, I can only assume that someone abandoned her.   Keep up the good work! Best wishes,

Hi,
Good news. Chivers was found in Stoke Bishop last week. He is now safely back home and fine.
I can only think he was heading for our old house and got lost. He must have found somewhere OK to sleep and some people in a block of flats were feeding him.
He is absolutely fine. He's indoors for a few weeks and hopefully won't wander again when let out!
And I think that's the third of Chivers' nine lives gone. We rehomed him after he had apparantly been taken to a vets to be put down. And about two years ago he was badly mauled by a dog. He must be a survivor so let's hope he does manage to live a long and happy life.

Our visitors were given a lecture for letting her out - she had got herself underneath the flooring, and luckily started answering my call, when nobody else was around! a little hungry and nervours, but otherwise ok (and being under constant surveillance at the moment!)
Many Thanks
Evi

Hi Sue
We’ve found him!!
We started by posting out 400 leaflets through letterboxes over 3 days and talking to as many people as we could in the street.  The help we received was overwhelming.  So much so that the Henley Standard even did an article on us together with a cartoon in the paper!!  Couldn’t believe it!  He was shut in for 5 days and was very hungry when we got him back.
So yes we are very pleased.
Thanks and regards
Debra

Delighted to tell you Bonnie {from Anchorsholme ] found safely last night. Local vet had a call from a man saying cat hanging around his garden for several days- they went and picked her up.- I had reported her description to them in case any injured animals brought in - they rang me. She is very thin but otherwise completely unharmed ! amazing taking into account her age and been missing 8 nights. However, thank you very much for your help.
With relief,   Olwen Robertson
Not quite that simple...
Olwen had reported Bonnies disappearance to her local Vet who, seeing as they were closed over weekend relayed the message to their Poulton branch. It was here that two and two were put together and Bonnie reunited with her family.

'Molly' found by the Coop Shop in FFordd Elan
a Grey and White tabby
hi sue
we have had no luck at all tracing mollys owners which is a shame as she is a well cared for good natured cat, we have found a new home for her with a caring owner and she is leaving tomorrow, we would love to keep her here on a permanent basis but have four cats already and can not take anymore
having said that we agreed to keep her here until we could find her original owners or a good home, the lady who is taking her has been advised by the doctor to get a cat and molly will be well loved and cared for, i will send you a photo just in case something comes up, we have looked hard on the internet and put up many posters but to no avail plus i have rung all the vets etc.
best wishes

We at Moggy do our best to be here for all those 'Moggy' People who need support - we take no credit for finding the cats on our homesafe pages - that is due to the humans who go through untold traumas, distress and heartache to get their loved ones back and we salute you.
Thanks also to the Rescuers who work tirelessly to find owners or provide forever homes for their charges - Well done.
