Simba

"Simba" our Male Cream Burmese has been missing from the Plymouth area since 6th May.

He is a cream burmese but quite dark for a cream, he is castrated, micro-chipped and was wearing a collar. He is nearly four years old and before he left was a very trusting loving cat who had never growled or shown a claw.

It is possible he got into a car as he was always trying to get into our car whenever the opportunity arose.

We have tried advertising in the local papers, sending out flyers, calling local rescue centres, sent flyers and letters to all the vets in Plymouth and the surrounding area, even calling the local council in the chance that he may have been killed by a car. As a result of this we have had very little response from people and it is like he has just vanished so we are thinking more and more that he may have been stolen.

We also own his sister who is missing him terribly as they have always been together. We are all finding it hard to come to terms with his loss

We can supply a Poster & Flier to anyone who would like to help by displaying one
Would everyone Please check Sheds / Garages Frequently in case Simba is trapped
and to spread the word about Simba being missing - Thankyou
update 12.June.2005
I thought I would send you the whole story of Simba so you can get a better picture of his life and the type of cat he is.
We got Simba when he was 12 weeks old our very first cat as we have always had dogs.  We chose a Burmese because we had done our research and found out that they were very laid back cats that were good around dogs.
At the time we had Simba I was suffering from M.E. also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so he was a bright light at a rather dark time in my life.  I kept him in as a house cat because at the time I lived in Peverell and although it was a quiet part of Peverell I was too worried about traffic.
During my illness I was unable to leave the house so Simba became my shadow he ate, slept and breathed with me and was a huge distraction from how I was feeling.  When I started to get better I was able to make short trips out and on returning home each time Simba had been sick.  I started to worry and took him to the vet but after a thorough health check was told that he was distressed when I left him as he was so used to me being around all the time.  I new it would be impossible for me to stay in with him for every hour of the day so the vet suggested I get another cat.  This time we rescued a cat from an RSPCA centre and they became the best of friends, we named him Kova, however, we found that Kova was not so keen on being a house cat and constantly sat at the door meowing.  We decided it was time to move house to a more cat friendly zone and after much searching found our house in Plympton in an ideal spot for any cat with a quiet road and backing onto beautiful woods belonging to the Woodland Trust.  After the initial settling in of the new house (around 4mths) we decided it was time to let them out.  Simba was 9 months old and Kove 14 months.  Kova new exactly what to do and headed straight for the woods, Simba on the other hand was happy to just nose around the garden, keeping a watchful eye on me.  As time went by Simba became accustomed to his freedom and although never ventured too far loved the woods where he could climb trees all day till his heart was content and run as fast as he could chasing Kova.  Our cats were so happy we decided we could offer another a home and this time decided to go for a Burmese again.  A few months later Kiara arrived.  She came from the same breeder as Simba and had the same parents so although from the following years litter was his little sister.
Kiara was very different from Simba a lot more nervy and definitely the boss.  Simba adored her on sight and from there on in slept cuddled up with her throughout the day cleaning and preening her.  Unfortunately Kova did not take to his new arrival and although we tried everything even making him a home in the garden shed with carpet and all he decided to move away, gladly only three doors away.  He chose them and they loved him so I decided as long as he was happy and they wanted him he was free to go.
Simba & Kiara became soul mates always playing together and never really too far from each others side.  Simba and Kova stilled remained loyal friends and met each day for a wander up to there elderly friend "Olive" who lives five doors away.  When Simba went on his outing with Kova, Kiara used to sit in the garden and wait for him occasionally crying for him to come home.  When he returned after his jaunt Kiara used to jump on him as if to say "Hey you don't go off leaving me again".
On May 6th "Simba" vanished not only leaving a hole in our hearts but also in his two best pals, Kiara and Kova.
Kova has not been to Olive's since and Kiara just sits in the garden calling him every day.
We are so lost without our baby boy and just hope and pray we get him back.
 Kind Regards
 Julie
