Syrus does like to wander and he has on occasion been away for a couple of nights but we have always been able to retrieve him from his favourite haunt (near our old house about a mile away from our new house) if that happened. Not this time. He is not there, not responding to his dish being banged like he usually does and not seen by any of the folk who live there now - and they usually see him regularly.

We got a couple of kittens about a month before this - at first he was a bit growly but things got much better and for the week before he disappeared they were all feeding and sitting together. I thought that the integration was almost completely there. They would sniff and lick and play biff each other - no growling or hissing.

Around the time he disappeared there were big machines in the fields ploughing - I think he may have been spooked and has run off in a direction he does not normally go in. Then it rained heavily for several days - I think he might be in the countryside but unable to find his way home. There are farms and houses and we have dropped posters off at them all - to no avail as yet.

We keep trying his old haunt and also drive around the estate stopping at gates and open spaces to bang his bowl and shout. Nothing so far.

We just keep waiting to hear him come through the cat flap in the middle of the night with a mouse or rabbit like he usually does waking us up to admire his prowess! We keep on waiting.

"Syrus loves the wild countryside around where we live, but usually he comes home at least once a day and quite often he brings us presents of rabbits or mice. He likes to sleep with us and then enjoys a hearty breakfast of 'proper' food before he heads out for the day's adventure. He has not been home now since 13th August and we are missing him desperately."
Would everyone living in the vicinity or in the extended areas between the A904 and the coast, Please keep a lookout for Syrus.  Search and Monitor all Outbuildings in the hopes of finding him.
