Monty is a curious cat but loves his home comforts. He sticks to me like a shadow, even coming to sit in the bathroom watching me curiously when I take a bath. He cuddles in bed with us while we sleep and is never out for more than a few hours, and has never been out overnight. Our routine every evening is we call him in (if he hasn't already called us to be let in) between 11PM and midnight. We called him as usual on Sunday night and had no response. He'd been out since roughly 7PM. By 1AM we were worried and went out straight away to call for him - On two occasions in the past when he hasn't come home we've gone calling for him and found him lost in a hedge meowing frantically just yards away from our back garden, so we were expecting this to be the case again.

Monty's usually very easily scared despite his curious nature and is extremely cautious of cars and roads. He is very agile and quick and we've known him to still catch birds despite the bell on his collar! For this reason I am refusing to believe he has been hit by a car.

He has recently made friends with a little black cat who he play fights with like a sibling, who may have led him to a place he was unfamiliar with and then abandoned him.
Our neighbourhood is full of cats, despite living here a year and a half we still spot new ones coming in and out of our garden now and again.

We are lost without our little Monster. I never thought I would say this but I even miss our 5AM wake-up call of a pair of tickly whiskers to the face!

I miss him so much, I was there when he was born and have watched him grow, he feels more like a child than a pet and I am beside myself with worry.
